Restored 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W30

The car is equipped with the W30 package, and power is from a numbers-matching 455ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a locking differential with a W27 aluminum housing. Additional features include air conditioning, a Hurst dual shifter, power-assisted brakes with front discs, power-assisted steering, Rally Pac gauges, tinted glass, and an eight-track player. The car was awarded a Concours Gold at the 2018 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in addition to Muscle Car of the Year Finalist at the 2019 Goodguys Del Mar Nationals and a second in class at the 2020 Grand National Roadster Show. In addition to mechanical enhancements, the W30 package included a fiberglass hood with two functional air scoops as well as plastic inner fender liners, black side stripes, “W-30” fender badges, and color-matched sport mirrors. The body was removed from the frame and placed on a rotisserie before being finished with sealer, epoxy primer, base coat, and clear coat. Bright trim pieces were either replated or polished. Body-colored steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and white-letter Goodyear Polyglas G70-14 tires. A matching spare is housed in the trunk. The power-assisted braking system incorporate discs up front and drums at the rear, and power-assisted steering is also among factory options. Front bucket and rear bench seats were reupholstered with black vinyl sourced from Legendary Auto Interiors during the project, which also included installation of a new color-matched headliner and carpeting as well as refurbishing the black lap belts.
