Description

The car is finished in Rose Mist over brown vinyl and cloth upholstery, and power comes from a 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed Flight-O-Matic automatic transmission. Equipment includes an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum fuel tank, power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering, a chrome roof rack, a retractable rear roof section, a power-operated tailgate window, a front-passenger headrest, a heater, and a cassette player. The Brooks Stevens-designed Wagonaire was unveiled in the fall of 1962 and ,at the outset, featured a standard retractable rear roof panel and power-operated tailgate window based on Stevensâ?? aluminum-bodied Scimitar concept car of 1959. Due to early customer complaints of water leakage, Studebaker introduced a fixed-roof Wagonaire variant in January 1963. A total of 11,915 fixed and sliding roof Wagonaires were produced for the model year, and the sliding roof option remained available through 1965. An invoice for the work totaling $11k can be seen in the gallery. Equipment includes chrome bumpers and trim, quad headlights, a hood ornament, dual side-view mirrors, a chrome roof rack, and reverse lights. The 15â?³ steel wheels wear chrome Studebaker hubcaps with painted accents, and they are mounted with 215/75 Goodyear Regatta whitewall radial tires that were installed in July 2016. The car was equipped from the factory with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums with a dual-circuit master cylinder. The cabin features front seats and a rear bench trimmed in brown cloth and vinyl upholstery.
