Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was purchased new from Big R Chevrolet in Jacksonville, Florida with options including LeMans Blue paint over a blue interior, a center console, a four-speed manual gearbox, a Positraction rear axle, power-assisted disc brakes, front and rear spoilers, and more. A subsequent refurbishment included the addition of a period Cross-Ram induction system with dual four-barrel carburetors for its 302ci V8 as well as a matching fiberglass hood. The work was completed in the early 2000s by American Muscle Cars of San Diego, California, and the car went on to win awards at several shows as well as being featured in a number of magazines. The body wears a repaint in its original LeMans Blue (71) according to the selling dealer, and features Dover White rally stripes over the hood and trunk. Chin and trunk spoilers were featured from the factory, and a period GM fiberglass Cross-Ram hood with hold-down pins and a prop rod was reportedly sourced for the 2000s refurbishment. Steel 15? Rally wheels wear chrome hubcaps, beauty rings, and period-style Goodyear Wide Tread GT bias-ply tires. Vacuum-assisted front disc brakes were a factory option, adding $64 to the purchase price in 1969. The interior was refurbished with dark blue vinyl upholstery and features a factory center console as well as a Hurst shifter with a chrome ball knob. Black vinyl mats protect blue carpets, and a blanking plate has replaced the factory AM radio. The RPO-U17 Special Instrumentation package included a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, a 120-mph speedometer, and a cluster of auxiliary gauges in the center console.
