Description

This 1949 Bentley Mark VI is a right-hand-drive two-door sports saloon that was coachbuilt by James Young Ltd of Bromley, England. Finished in burgundy and black over a gray interior with wood trim, the car is powered by a 4,257cc inline-six paired with a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission. Additional features include 16? steel wheels with polished covers, a winged radiator cap, rear-hinged doors, and fold-down wooden trays for the rear passengers. Approximately 5,200 Mark VI two- and four-door saloons were produced between 1946 and 1952. Body-color 16? steel wheels wear polished Bentley-stamped covers and are mounted with Firestone Deluxe Champion gum-dipped tires. Two rear-hinged doors grant access to the right-hand-drive interior, which features individual front bucket seats and a reach bench with a folding armrest. The gray leather upholstery is complemented by a matching headliner, carpeting, floor mats, and door panels. A black three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a wooden dashboard with polished handles and gloveboxes on either side. The radio is missing, and factory Smiths instrumentation includes a 110-mph speedometer as well as a combination gauge. Wood trims the doors and window frames, and wooden trays for the rear passengers stow in the backs of the front seats.
