Description
This 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger was the subject of a custom build completed circa 2008 that involved a repaint in lime green and the installation of a 460ci V8, a tilt-dump mechanism for the pickup bed, and a long-travel lifted suspension to accommodate the 49â?³ Interco Super Swamper tires, which are mounted to 20â?³ Weld Racing wheels. Powertrain modifications include a Holley carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, an MSD ignition system, and Hooker exhaust headers, while shifting is through a three-speed automatic transmission mated to a dual-range transfer case. The body has been outfitted with a color-keyed tubular roll bar, lengthened side steps, and custom airbrushed graphics, and inside, Recaro bucket seats upholstered in black and gray cloth have been installed along with a Grant steering wheel, a floor-mounted shifter, and a JVC head unit connected to aftermarket speakers. The truck was disassembled as part of the aforementioned build and repainted lime green with custom airbrushed multicolor graphics. A custom chrome grille insert, a color-keyed tubular brush guard, lengthened side steps, and black wheel arch moldings were added, and additional exterior details include a windshield visor with integrated marker lights as well as front-facing auxiliary lights, dual chrome side mirrors, window visors, and tinted glass. The brake lights are inoperative. The pickup bed has been outfitted with a tubular roll bar, a spray-on bedliner, and tilt-dump functionality which is provided by an electrohydraulic lift cylinder. A hydraulic seal was replaced in April 2024. Weld Racing 20â?³ forged alloy wheels are mounted with 21Ã?49â?³ Interco Super Swamper IROK tires. As part of the build, the truck was fitted with a custom suspension package comprised of long-travel leaf springs and shocks, revised leaf spring shackles, and chrome-finished rear ladder bars as well as a chrome-finished elongated panhard bar and drag link.
