1972 Mercedes-Benz 350SL Convertible

This is the first year for the 107 model which was produced from 1972 to 1989. The 1972 U.S. model was labeled as a 350SL, but has a 4.5L engine; in 1973 the model was renamed as 450SL. The 1972 and 1973 models were the only years to have the small bumpers which make the car look so much better than the later models, and is absent the catalytic converters and complex and trouble prone climate control system of later years. The interior and hard top is original. I replaced the soft top last fall with the same German canvas style top as the original. I also put new Michelin tires on about 500 miles ago.
