Description
He had a local Pantera specialist pull, disassemble, and rebuild the engine to original specifications apart from an aftermarket carburetor. The factory ANSI exhaust remains intact, and the car features its original yellow paint and black interior. The yellow (V502) paint was verified as original by the Pantera specialist and has held up well after being in storage for 34 years. The finish still appears glossy, though a few imperfections are present. The most noticeable flaws include chips on the trailing edge of the driverâ??s door, the inside of the driverâ??s door jamb, the driver-side rear edge of the engine bonnet, as well as a small group of chips on the rear portion of the driver-side fender. He reports that a local body shop can fix the damage and blend the paint to a high standard and will help facilitate the work if the new buyer chooses to do so. The black rubber bumpers fitted on Panteras after 1973 are free of cracks, though some fading is evident on both units. The front bumper was designed with an integrated airfoil to limit front end lift at high speeds and shows some warping. The â??Powered by Fordâ? badge on the rear decklid was replaced with a â??DeTomaso V8â? emblem, though the original badge is included in the sale. The original 15â?³ Campagnolo magnesium wheels are in serviceable condition and wear the original Goodyear Arriva tires. The interior appears to be in nice shape with no rips or tears apparent in the black seats and door panels. A small scuff on the bottom of the outside driverâ??s seat bolster can be seen, and some slight wear on the seat bottoms is evident. The dash is smooth with no cracks, and the carpets and floormats look clean. The original Becker radio is functional, and aftermarket speakers were installed in the kick panels at some point. The factory A/C system is also operational. Chrome trim on the gated shift plate and switchgear looks bright with no significant pitting or corrosion. The 351ci pushrod V8 has been pulled by a Pantera specialist, disassembled, inspected, and rebuilt to ensure no issues after the longterm storage. The motor looks clean and is in stock configuration apart from a period aftermarket carburetor. A picture of the stamping on the engine block can be seen above. The VIN plate on the door jamb indicates the car was built in October of 1973 and has the serial #06315.
