Description
This tube-frame special is powered by a 1953 Dodge 270ci Hemi V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission from a 1939 Ford. Additional equipment includes modified Ford axles, a custom aluminum radiator with an electric fan, a fuel cell, an electric fuel pump, Tilton hydraulic cylinders and pedals, and more. Transmission and differential fluid changes were performed in 2019, and carburetors were rebuilt in January 2020. A chrome bumper is fitted out back along with a period San Diego Roadster Club plaque. A single-piece road windshield was installed in the early 1990s. Magnesium 15 Halibrand wheels were painted in 1992 and wear Mickey Thompson Sportsman bias-ply tires that were installed approximately four years ago. Braking is handled by carbon/kevlar-lined drums at all four corners, with the 11x3 fronts featuring machined aluminum cooling fins, ventilated backing plates, and scoops that were installed in 1995. The brake fluid was last changed in 2015. Aluminum racing wheels with older Dunlop tires in need of replacement are included in the sale. The interior is trimmed in gray cloth and vinyl and features two bucket seats, a Bell Auto Parts steering wheel which was reportedly installed in 1950, Tilton swing pedals added in 1993, and Stewart Warner gauges.
