Description

This 1997 Ferrari F355 Spider is a 6-speed manual example finished in Rosso Barchetta over Tan leather with 11,700 miles from new. The car has had three Pennsylvania owners and is fully documented with a complete service file dating back to 1997. Mechanical servicing is up-to-date, with a major engine-out service performed in June 2015 and a full fluid flush performed in May 2016 as detailed below. The only alteration from stock is a professionally converted manual convertible top. This Ferrari is now offered with an extensive service file, accident-free Carfax, full tool set, silk and canvas factory service covers, Ferrari car cover, original books/manuals, and a clean Pennsylvania title. This F355 was purchased new from Algar Ferrari of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in 1997. The seller bought the car directly from the second owner, who had driven it just 800 miles during his eight years of ownership. The seller has driven the car approximately 1200 miles in two years.Rosso Barchetta is a deeper shade of red compared to traditional Rosso Corsa. The finish shows well from all angles, and the seller believes the car retains all of its original paint and panels. The included Carfax is accident-free.The black convertible top has been professionally converted for full-manual operation. The upper hydraulic lifters and carrier bearings are included with the sale should the new owner want to convert it back to power operation. The top itself remains in good condition, and the boot cover is also included.Inside, factory Tan leather shows well with the seller noting slight wear on the driverâ??s outer seat bolster. All instrumentation, lighting, and features are said to be in working order. The interior remains stock with factory center console-mounted auxiliary gauges and a CD stereo. The iconic gated shifter and all switchgear appear to be in nice condition. The 3.5L DOHC V8 remains stock with the factory headers, catalytic converters, and exhaust system noted to be in good condition. These engines were rated at 375 horsepower and 268 lb-ft. of torque when new, and the seller states that this F355 starts, runs, drives, and shifts well. With five valves per cylinder and a flat plane crankshaft, these engines are known to be some of the best sounding Ferraris of the modern era.Notable mechanical work includes a major engine-out service in June 2015 at 10,748 miles that consisted of a belt and cam seal service and clutch/header/muffler/catalytic converter inspections. The throw out bearing, all hoses, and CV boots were also replaced. A full fluid flush was performed in May 2016, and the car is sold with a complete service file dating back to 1997 that covers all the major belt services and routine oil/fluid changes. A two-page $8k+ receipt for the major engine-out service is shown in the photo gallery below.Included with the sale are a full tool set in its leather case, cockpit tool carrier with the original gloves intact, silk and canvas factory service covers, the original Ferrari car cover, and all books/manuals.An accident-free Carfax shows three Pennsylvania owners, two service history records, and consistent mileage reported throughout the years. With low miles, good colors, three pedals, and a complete service history file, this F355 Spider appears to be a particularly nice example that is ready to be driven and enjoyed.Filed under: 355
