Ford Escort Mk1-Style Race Car

This tube-frame race car was built in 2015 by SHP Engineering of the United Kingdom for use in European Hill Climb Championship events. Fiberglass bodywork is inspired by the Mk1 Ford Escort, and power is provided by a 2. 9-liter DOHC V8 built by Radical Performance Engines and mated to a Quaife G60 six-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters. Additional equipment includes a full roll cage, fuel cell, carbon-fiber racing seat, Penske 8300 triple-adjustable coilovers, Alcon GP2 brake calipers, and more. The car features a white fiberglass body with gray stripes mounted over a tube frame chassis. Aerodynamic equipment includes a front splitter with endplates, stacked front canards, side splitters, a rear diffuser, and an adjustable rear wing. MB Racing wheels are wrapped in white-letter Avon racing slicks, and the car rides on Penske 8300 triple-adjustable coilovers with remote oil reservoirs. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated discs with Alcon GP2 calipers. The right-hand drive cabin is finished in silver with carbon-fiber door panels and an Alcantara-covered dashboard. Additional features include a full roll cage along with a carbon-fiber racing seat outfitted with Schroth harnesses.
