Description
This 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera is a presentable late-production 3. 2 liter Targa finished in Baltic Blue over tan leather and equipped with a G50 5-speed manual. The sale includes records from the last 17 years along with a clean Carfax report and clear California title. Black paint has been partially rubbed off the edge of the targa bar and a small patch of clear coat is missing from the lower driver-side fender. Panel gaps look consistent and sheet metal appears devoid of dents or creases throughout. Plastic cladding looks free of cracks or distortion and black trim is dark and evenly colored. Staggered-width Fuchs with polished lips are 16Ã?6â?³ up front and 16Ã?7â?³ in the rear, with all wearing wheel locks and Dunlop Direzza rubber. The wide plastic taillight band remains bright with no visible cracks or condensation, and both fog light lenses are recent replacements. The targa top appears to fit well, though its seals include temporary repairs at the rear corners along with signs of age up front. The lower driverâ??s door seal is also cracked. Glass appears clear and undamaged throughout, though a small chip is detailed on the driverâ??s door mirror. Door panels look free of sagging or pocket lid distortion, though there is an abrasion on the driverâ??s handle stitching. Carpeting shows signs of use along with fading in the rear. A pair of cracks are noted in the dash and accessory mounting holes are present on the center console. A thick-rimmed Momo Prototipo steering wheel is currently fitted, though the stock wheel is also included. Switchgear all looks accounted for and retains largely bright lettering. Clear factory instruments include an odometer showing just under 202k miles and a non-functional oil pressure gauge. All air conditioning equipment has been removed but is included in the sale. The options tag further lists a short shifter, power seats, automatic heating, and hi-fi sound with rear shelf speakers. A more modern Blaupunkt stereo has replaced the original unit. Service records date back to 2000 and show the 3. 2 liter flat-six was pulled for a 2009 rebuild with new pistons and rings, refurbished intake valves and seats, fresh exhaust valves, and several gaskets including the crank seal. A second service in 2011 at 165k miles had the engine apart again for installation of a Euro cylinder set and more new pistons along with additional gaskets, chain rails, and belts. The engine bay looks well tended with intact factory decals and no corrosion visible in photos. Shifting is from a G50 5-speed transaxle, and a third engine-out service in 2015 included a new clutch, flywheel, master and slave cylinders, CV axle boots, and synthetic gear oil. A tune-up was also performed along with installation of fresh valve cover gaskets and new filters. Brakes were refreshed with new pads and rotors at all four corners, as well as replacement hoses and parking brake shoes. Some evidence of seeping fluids is visible in underside photos. The Carfax report shows a steady accumulation of mileage from new and does not indicate any accidents, thefts, or other issues. Records are also included for the more recent work performed in 2015.
