1964 Amphicar Model 770

Finished in white with a black soft top over a red and white vinyl interior, the car is powered by a 1,147cc Triumph Herald inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The Amphicar’s 770 model name refers to the vehicle’s theoretical top speeds of seven-knots in the water and 70-mph on land. Additional features include a red tonneau cover and chrome side moldings, bumpers, navigation lights, and a marine-style horn. Red-painted 13” steel wheels wear chrome Amphicar-branded hubcaps and are wrapped in BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial whitewall tires sized 185/80. The front wheels function as rudders while the vehicle is in the water, while stopping power on land is provided by drums at all four corners. The cabin features two rows of bench seats trimmed in red and white vinyl with matching door panels and black rubber-lined floors. Clear protective coverings have been applied to the front seat bottoms and rear bench, and the car features an umbrella holder along with roll-down side and pop-out wing windows.
