Description

This 1970 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 is finished in Blue Scozia over black leather and shows 82,311 kilometers (~51k miles). p. A. of Rome. Early history of the car is scarce but did include servicing at the Ferrari factory in November of 1970 and June of 1971. Later exported to the US, it was repainted red and most recently redone in its current dark blue in 2012. Seats have been reupholstered with new leather and the steering wheel has been refinished. The car is powered by a non-original but correct-type 4. 4 liter Tipo 245 V12 mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This 365 GT 2+2 â??Queen Motherâ?Â is now being offered with some service records and a clean Texas title. Production of the 365 GT 2+2 combined several technical advances, including all-independent suspension for the first time on a 2+2 model and a new torque tube arrangement. These Pininfarina-bodied GTs had additional convenience and luxury features like standardized power steering and air conditioning. Believed to have been exported to the US in the late 1970s or early 1980s, the car was repainted at least once and was still red when it was sold by Motorcar Gallery of Florida in 2012. Blue Scozia paintwork was done to a high standard. Brightwork is in good overall condition, with just minor surface scratches noted. Borrani wire wheels are nicely polished and wear proper Michelin XWX tires. The trunk has been re-trimmed with new carpet, and the spare is a Campagnolo alloy wheel as shown in the photo gallery. The interior is in very good condition following work to reupholster the front seats in leather. Carpets are similarly nice, as are the upholstered dashboard, center console, and door panels. Interior wood is in generally good shape with a few minor blemishes here and there. The steering wheel has been refinished but shows minor wear as highlighted in the photo gallery. Light grey headliner is reportedly correct and in very good condition. The tips of the door release latches have come off, a common fault on these 2+2s. Overall, the cabin presents honestly and has been kept in close to original condition. The nicely-detailed engine compartment looks generally correct with proper airbox over Weber carburetors and crinkle-finish valve covers. The 4. 4 liter Columbo V12 is a replacement unit of the correct 245 type. In April-May 2015, the car received some work by Bay Area Ferrari expert Patrick Ottis, who sorted some electrical issues and replaced the clutch cable. Documentation includes invoices for that work as well as a recorded history report
