Description

Year:1965 Make:Ford Model:Mustang Mileage:56957 1965 A-Code 2+2 Ford Mustang Fastback Only 56,957 Miles. 5F09A304730 Door Tag Info: Body: 63A (Fastback; Standard Interior) Color: P (Prairie Bronze) Trim: 26 (Black Vinyl/Black Trim) Date: 02K (October 2nd, 1964) DSO: 42 (Fargo) Axle: A (3:00 Posi) Trans: 5 (4 Speed Manual) OVERVIEW: This car is a SOLID driver. Starts, runs, drives, steers and stops without issue. Previous owner had purchased in 1997, owned for 25 years, and did not perform any major repairs, and rarely drove the car. Odometer reads 56,957 miles, with no indications that it had ever rolled over. Very original feeling car. BODY: The car wears its original "Prairie Bronze" colour, which shows exceptionally well with the added black racing stripes. As stated, car is a SOLID driver. Zero known rust-through. Shows usual wear of a 65 Mustang that has been used for its purpose, and was clearly driven. Fenders, doors, quarters, drop offs, rockers, trunk, frame rails, torque box, etc all appear extremely clean and solid. The car has seemingly had full rear quarters replaced at some point in its life, which appear to have been installed exceptionally well, with a clean seam being visible at the very top of the quarter when you look up close inside the trunk area. No indications of body filler patches what so ever. Floors appear to be very solid with no evidence of previous patches. Has usual surface corrosion typical of a Canadian car, however no known rust. Firewall forward... No evidence of rust or fixes. Shock towers, aprons, shroud, cowl, battery tray etc all exceptionally clean. Seam sealer on cowl is cracking, and appears to be original and clean. Paint shows VERY well from a distance, however up close in detail you can find usual wear. There are stone chips on the front valance, headlight buckets, seams of fenders @ the buckets etc. Fenders, doors and quarters have wear marks, scuffs, and small chips in the paint. Paint chips in the roof where it meets the windshield chrome etc. On the Driver's side quarter, there is a small dent and paint chipping above the wheel well (as shown in pics). Chrome is all very decent, shows well but has usual wear and very minor pitting. On the driver's side of the rear window chrome there is a small noticeable dent in the chrome trim. Rocker chrome is pitted, and has had some paint loss of the black inlay. Emblems have similar pitting and are not in pristine "show condition". Similarly with the taillights, which show nicely, however up close small pitting and black paint-loss are evident. All glass is good, no cracks or issues to note. Trunk and hood are tight and open/close very well. Doors pop open, and close beautifully, however alignment is not perfect, and there are some seams and gaps that are not "pristine" in nature. POWERTRAIN: Car is originally an A-code, 289 4bbl 4 speed. 4 speed has been removed, and a T5 five speed has been installed. Shifts very nicely without issue in any gear. 289 cold-starts very easily, no issues at all. Carb was replaced with a QFT 450cfm. Intake / exhaust manifolds and block appear correct, however I can only assume the motor has been rebuilt at some point as it is painted blue. The gold valve covers feature the original FoMoCo decal on the breather cap, and rad hoses show correct CFZE part numbers. Appears to be a new fuel pump. No known issues with the motor or tranny, no apparent leaks what so ever. Newer exhaust was installed, unknown brand of mufflers but the car certainly sounds respectable. The correct 1965 rims are installed, which show very nicely with only a *small* amount of the black inlay paint being chipped. They are fitted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A P215/60/R14 tires with minimal wear. INTERIOR: Black Vinyl with black trim. No cracks in dash, and all seats are in respectable, driver quality shape. The drivers seat has a small tear in the bottom cushion, along the seam-line from usage. Fold down rear seat is complete and in-tact, however rear-most carpeted portion is faded due to sun exposure. The fold-down locking mechanism is missing. All interior panels are in good shape, with no major issues or modifications (ie holes cut for speakers etc).
