Year: 1950s Make: Packard Model:Convertible Powered by a replacement 327ci straight-eight linked to a replacement three-speed manual transmission with overdrive, the car is finished in red with a power-operated black soft top over red and white vinyl upholstery. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volts and PerTronix ignition, and other features include wheel covers, whitewall tires, fender skirts, power windows, and a power-adjustable front seat. The Cavalier-based convertible was stripped of that nameplate for the 1954 season, when it was referred to simply as the Packard convertible and 863 copies were produced. Equipment includes fender skirts, a turned-down exhaust finisher, dual sideview mirrors, a pelican-style hood ornament, and chrome bumpers and trim. Body-color steel wheels feature Packard-branded chrome covers and are mounted with Uniroyal Tiger Paw whitewall tires. The front and rear bench seats have been retrimmed in red and white vinyl upholstery. Appointments include a power-adjustable front seat, power windows, a heater, and front lap belts. The AM radio and the clock are inoperable. A red steering wheel with a partial horn ring sits ahead of a 110-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volts, and PerTronix ignition has been fitted.
