Description
1970 Chevy Chevelle Super Sport 454 LS-5. This is a Frame Off Nut and Bolt Rotisserie restoration using as many original gm parts as possible to make this car look showroom stock as new. It is not matching numbers and there is no Buildsheet although i did find some pieces of one under the seat cushion but nothing that would help document this vehicle. Wasn't a big deal to me as i wanted to build the car from the ground up the way I wanted Engine compartment looks as it would in the Chevrolet dealer showroom in 1970. Completely stock and correct looking throughout, including the intake, carb and exhaust manifolds. Engine has way more power than originally equipped and draws crowds everywhere it goes. It looks all original but has flowmaster mufflers but correct looking dual exhaust with resonators and chrome tips. Sounds absolutely incredible ! Other upgrades include a Polished Aluminium 4 core radiator for those hot summer nights and new gas shocks. The engine has been completely rebuilt and is .30 over with new pistons with a final compression ratio of 10.7 but still pump friendly but mean when the throttle is pushed. Muncie M-21 was sent out and rebuilt and shifts perfectly , smoothly and quietly like a new car with New Hurst Competition plus shifter and linkage. 12 Bolt posi-traction was rebuilt with all new bearings and seals. GM Eaton 3 series posi unit and 3.55 gears. Restored to correct colors of 25 25 Astro Blue exterior and 791 Ivory White bucket seat interior. Car looks amazing and is not a common color at any shows i have attended. Everything on this car has been restored, replaced, replated or upgraded. The Battery has a stock looking R59 cover and correct spring-ring battery cables but the battery is a new Modern one as are most of the parts for easy replacement if needed. The tires are stock correct Goodyear F70-14 Polyglas and that includes the spare tire and SS wheel in the trunk. ( Tires have dry rot and are good for short trips and local shows. ) Every nut and bolt has been turned on this vehicle. It has New fuel lines, brake lines, gas tank , suspension parts and most of the interior. New carpet, door panels, headliner, package tray, sill plates, seat foam and covers and Cushion Grip steering wheel. The Dash pad and the Ivory Bucket seat headrest are original GM. Lots more replaced but too extensive to list here The undercarriage is super clean and only painted satin black as i built the car to drive and have fun with. No undercoating. Even though i had the car on a rotisserie i don't care for the floors to be painted body color unless your going to trailer it everywhere which was not my intention.
