Description

This Ford Mustang is reportedly the third â??Super Snakeâ? drag car built for drag racer Jim Hadden. Nicknamed â??El Jefeâ?, the car features fastback bodywork finished in black over a custom chassis, and power comes from a 429ci V8 paired with a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a four-barrel carburetor, MSD electronic ignition, full-length exhaust headers, four-wheel disc brakes, a 9â?³ rear axle, Strange Engineering and Koni coilovers, a four-link rear suspension, 15â?³ staggered-width Strange Engineering polished wheels, a rear wing, wheelie bars, a drag chute, a roll cage, a Kirkey fixed-back seat, a B&M ratchet shifter, a DaVinci carburetor, and a K&R Performance Pro-Cube delay box. This Mustang drag car was purchased by the selling dealer in 2024, and it is now offered at no reserve in Sanctuary, Texas, on a bill of sale. The fastback bodywork is finished in black and features a painted faux grille, a hood scoop, a rear wing, plexiglass-covered headlights, plexiglass windows, wheelie bars, and a Simpson drag chute. The 15â?³ staggered-width Strange Engineering polished wheels are mounted with Goodyear front and Hoosier rear slicks. The car features a custom chassis that was reportedly built by Joe Smith Race Cars of Texas, and it features an independent front suspension with Strange Engineering coilovers as well as a four-link rear suspension setup with Koni coilovers. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners. The stripped cockpit features a roll cage and a Kirkey fixed-back seat trimmed in black upholstery. Additional equipment includes a B&M ratchet shifter, a K&R Performance Pro-Cube delay box, and a Painless Wiring fuse block and switchgear.
