1960 Mercedes-Benz 190SL

The 1. 9-liter inline-four and Solex carburetors were rebuilt, along with the four-speed manual transmission. Additional work included an overhaul of the suspension and braking systems, as well as refinishing the chrome bumpers, trim, brightwork, and more. The roadster body was disassembled and stripped to bare metal before being put on a mechanical puller at a body shop to repair collision damage near the driver-side headlight area. Body filler was added as necessary before the car was sprayed with an epoxy primer, urethane primer, and single-stage urethane in the original black (40) color. The car was delivered new without a soft convertible top, and its only roof remains the body-color hardtop shown here. Black-painted 13â?³ steel wheels feature polished trim rings, body-color hubcaps, and Yokohama Aegis LS4 whitewall tires. The suspension was fitted with replacement shocks, springs, rubber bushings, and steering components. Records show that the braking system was overhauled as well during the 2003 restoration. The interior was reupholstered in factory beige leather on the seats, door panels, dash, and center tunnel.
