Subsequent work included removal of the body from the frame, rust repair, and a repaint in gold and ochre as well as an overhaul of its 304ci V8, which is paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. The interior was coated in bed liner and fitted with sound deadening material, new carpets, and Bestop seats. Additional modifications include a Holley Sniper fuel injection setup, power-assisted steering and front disc brakes, steel bumpers, air conditioning and heating with electric controls, a Bluetooth audio system, and more. The Comanche package was named after the four-cylinder engine that powered earlier Scouts, and was planned to be fitted to 1,500 trucks. Reproduction Comanche graphics are included in the sale but not installed. Steel front and rear bumpers with recovery shackles and a receiver hitch have replaced the stock versions. Painted 15� steel wheels wear 30� Falken Wildpeak tires and are mounted over repacked manually-locking Warn hubs up front. A refinished stock drop-down carrier for a spare is fitted at the rear, and the truck will come with a refinished fifth wheel without a tire. A power-assisted steering conversion using a Scout II gearbox has been carried out, and front disc brakes have been added along with new rear drum brake components. The black vinyl interior features Bestop front seats as well as a stock rear bench that has been disassembled and painted.
