Description
This 1974 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia coupe was refurbished in the 1990s before reportedly being placed in storage for approximately 24 years. Work consisted of performing an oil change and leak-down test for the air-cooled 1. 6L flat-four along with a flush of the fuel tank and replacement of the battery, carburetor, fuel pump gasket, fuel lines, spark plugs, ignition wires, cap and rotor, points, coil, alternator, fan belt, and starter. The four-speed manual transaxle was serviced with replacement fluid, the steering stabilizer, ball joint boots, and rag joint were replaced, and the brake system was overhauled. The car is finished in green over tan upholstery and features 15â?³ steel wheels, front disc brakes, a Sony cassette stereo, pop-out rear quarter windows, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The car received dent and rust repairs before being refinished in Zambesi Green (L64K), which is believed to be the original color approximately 25 years ago. Exterior details include polished trim, pop-out rear quarter windows, dual â??pea shooterâ? exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The passenger door binds and has made contact with the fender, paint chips are present on the front end, and the bumpers show pitting. Steel 15â?³ wheels wear chrome VW-stamped hubcaps and are mounted with 165/80 Nexen SB-802 tires. The brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, hoses, calipers, rotors, drums, pads, and shoes were replaced in December 2023 along with the rag joint, ball joint boots, and steering stabilizer.
