Description

The car was refinished in blue with a black sliding sunroof over red leather upholstery, and power is provided by a rebuilt 1,275cc inline-four with a Cooper S-style camshaft, dual SU carburetors, and a stainless steel exhaust system. Additional features include a four-speed manual transmission with a “magic wand” shifter, an alternator conversion, Minilite wheels, front disc and finned rear drum brakes, and more. Bodywork was carried out in areas including the right rear wheel well and inner edges of both doors before the car was repainted in its present dark blue with a black roof. An included invoice for the cosmetic work totals $30,468. Details include a sliding vinyl sunroof, a quick-release mustache grille, chrome bumpers without corner guards, external door hinges, sliding side windows, and amber rear turn signals. Silver Minilite wheels measure 10? x 5? and wear 165/70 Yokohama Advan A-008 HF tires with 2006 date codes. Braking is handled by front discs and finned Cooper S-style rear drums. The car retains Hydrolastic suspension, and new stainless steel lines were fitted along with refinished suspension arms and bags. The seats, door panels, and dash insert were reupholstered in red leather by Guy’s Interior Restorations of Portland, Oregon, and are complemented by body-colored steel surfaces, gray carpets, and black coco mats. Controls include an aluminum Paddy Hopkirk throttle pedal pad, a Moto-Lita John Cooper steering wheel, a “magic wand” shifter, and cable door pulls.
