Description
This 1966 Ford Mustang is reported to be a factory A-Code GT with the Luxury Interior, 4-speed manual transmission, and Rally Pac finished in its correct one-year-only shade of Emberglo. The car carries a Transportation Services DSO, which likely means it was a press car when new. 88,535 miles show on the odometer and are believed correct, and the car reportedly retains its original 289ci V8, 4-speed manual transmission, and many other components as listed on a laminated sheet in the photo gallery. The 2011 repaint was completed after the nose of the car and engine were removed. Emberglo was a one-year-only shade, and much of the exterior trim has also been replaced. In-process pictures are included with the sale and reportedly show a solid body throughout with no known corrosion issues. Optional dual-redline tires are new. As a result, the car won an AACA National 1st Prize with the badge mounted in the grille as shown above and highlighted in the photo gallery. Inside, this Mustang was optioned with the Luxury (or â??Ponyâ??) Interior option, which was also freshened in 2011. New carpeting was fitted and the original build sheet was found underneath the factory carpets as shown in the photo gallery. Aside from the new carpet and Hurst shifter, the interior is believed to be largely original. This includes all courtesy lights and the original radio. The factory 289ci V8 reportedly received a rebuild in 2011 while the car was being painted and is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine has reportedly been maintained regularly and recently received a complete fluid flush. Documentation consists of photographs and receipts starting with the 2011 repaint and engine rebuild as shown above.
