Vehicle Details Up for auction!!! 1964 El Camino. One year only dual badge car that sports the chevelle moniker on the front fender as well as the el Camino badge on the rear quarter panels. Car sports a mk4 427 bbc with custom built lemons headers. The transmission is a rebuilt Muncie m21 with a 1967 factory style hurst competition shifter. Engine and transmission are mated by a Lakewood scatterguard and a McLeod clutch. The rear end is the factory 12 bolt with 4.10 gears and a factory style posi. Car sits on vintage 15â? weld racing rims with â??replica knock off styleâ? center caps. Rear brakes are still drum while the front brakes are 4 piston cross drilled Wilwoods. Handling was improved greatly thanks to a Hotchkis stage 2 suspension kit that includes stiffer springs all the way around, Front and rear sway bars, New boxed upper and lower control arms in the rear, tubular upper and lower A arms in the front And adjustable shocks front and back. The interior is very unique sporting bucket seats and the correct one year only close finned center console (not a repop), as well as sporting a working original SS dash with original gauges (minus the tach). The speedo was sent out for repair. The AM Radio was sent out for repair and works great. This car is a van nuys car and has spent the majority of its life in California. The paint is in good condition but does have a couple of bubbles along the usual places around the corners of the doors. Very minimal rust for being an almost 50 year old car.
