1961 Buick Special Station Wagon 3-Speed

Powered by a 215ci Fireball V8 paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission, the car is finished in beige over beige vinyl. Subsequent work has involved installing slotted Ansen Sprint 14â?³ wheels, fitting rear air shocks, overhauling the brakes, rebuilding the generator and the CV joint, and replacing the driveshaft support and bearing, the tires, the front shocks, and the exhaust system. Exterior features include an upward-swinging tailgate with a roll-down rear window as well as D-pillar air deflectors, a driver-side mirror, and three VentiPorts on each front fender. Chips and other blemishes are noted in the finish. The car has drum brakes and coil springs at all four corners. Rear air shocks also were installed. The interior features seating for six and is trimmed in Fawn vinyl with plastic covers fitted over the seats. Equipment includes an under-dash tissue dispenser, rubber floor mats with Buick logos, front seatbelts, a heater, and a push-button AM radio. The cover for the dome light does not stay in place. The two-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer.
