Description
This 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 roadster was built in January 1956 and delivered new to a dealer in Tripoli, Libya. Power is provided by a numbers-matching 2,660cc inline-four, and equipment includes twin SU carburetors, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, a 100M-style louvered bonnet, a reclining windshield, a black convertible top, a black tonneau cover, and 15? chrome knock-off wire wheels. Originally finished in black with a red convertible top, the body was repaired and refinished in Healey Blue by Healey Surgeons of Takoma Park, Maryland, in 1999. Features include chrome bumpers with overriders, a 100M-style louvered bonnet with a leather bonnet strap, and an adjustable reclining windshield. Paint bubbles can be viewed in the gallery. 15? knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in 165-series Dunlop tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel hydraulic drums, and service performed in 2017 reportedly included replacement front wheel cylinders and a replacement brake master cylinder. Trimmed in red from the factory, the interior was refurbished in 1999 with black leather upholstery, matching carpets and door panels, and a paint-matched dash. The wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with an electronically actuated overdrive that can be engaged with a dash-mounted switch in the top two gears.
