1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible Maroon

1970 Olds 442 Convertible. When I acquired the vehicle, it had not been on the road for probably 10 years. I rebuild the quadrajet carb, put in new plugs, wires and internals for the HEI distributor, and set the timing. I also removed the valve covers and intake manifold to clean/paint and re-gasket. All the brackets were also removed, media blasted, and painted with POR15 at that time - the engine compartment now shows well with the addition of new belts, a new washer reservoir, and new air cleaner with 442 decal. There is NO OAI system on the engine, I don't have it, but vehicle obviously has the OAI hood. I also had to replace the water pump, but somehow ended up with a pump that wasn't long enough and had to sacrifice the AC belt to be able to run the vehicle. AC and Heat works just fine. Vehicle has new tires, they have maybe 1000 miles on them and are like brand new. I also pulled the rear wheel drums and inspected the back brakes and front brakes, they are fine. Engine NOT matching numbers, but it is a 455. True mileage of engine is unknown - I have no history on why or when the engine was changed. Cleaned up the lifter valley and under valve covers while apart, and changed the oil. Engine runs nice and smooth, doesn't smoke or use oil in the small amount of mileage I've put on the vehicle. Engine doesn't appear to be anything special, cast iron heads, cast iron intake manifold, cast iron exhaust manifolds, smooth idle leads me to believe it has a factory cam. Transmission, I believe is a turbo 400. Transmission shifts great ! Rear is a 12 bolt, I don't know the ratio. If I had to guess, something like a 3.42 but don't hold me to that number. Interior is white and black, with bucket seats and console. No major rips/tears, but the seats aren't perfect. May have originally been a gold interior, there is evidence on at least the rear seat that it may have been dyed at some point. Dashboard has not been cut in any way that I can see, and still has the original am/fm radio with 8 track player underneath the dash. These items do not work, but they are pretty cool. This interior has no major rips/tears, the carpet is OK (black). I replaced the seat backs, arm rest pads and arm rest bases. Appears to have original steering wheel, but horn button doesn't work. Somebody wired in another horn button that is wire tied to the steering column! So the horn works. Power windows all work, but a switch is missing in the rear drivers side. I just operate the windows from the 4 switch cluster in the drivers door, so didn't bother to replace this. Wires are hanging out, and I might actually have the switch in a small box of parts. Manual door locks. The top is in very nice condition, goes up and down fine by the switch on the dashboard. The cover to put over the top when it's down is brand new. For the pictures, I didn't bother to put the front runner in place because it was cold out and I didn't want to fight this cover - but it does fit correctly if you so desire. The warmer it is, the easier this stretches. There is also a storage bag for this cover. The trunk is in good shape, no rust.
