Description
This 1991 Ferrari 348 TS Targa has just under 45k-miles and is powered by a mid-engine, naturally-aspirated 3.4L V8 engine paired to a dogleg 5-speed manual transmission. This example is one of 4,230 Pininfarina-designed 348 Targas produced and has been upgraded with a Rarefab exhaust, Hill Engineering skid plates, wheel spacers and wheel bolts, aftermarket carbon lip guard, and more detailed blow. A maintenance log and extensive receipts include a $14k engine-out 2012 service with timing belt and water pump replacement. The front corner of the passenger fiberglass rocker panel was repaired and repainted after a misjudged turn into a driveway, and the fiberglass exhaust heat shield was repainted at the same time for cosmetic purposes. The front air dam has been fitted with a replacement carbon lip guard and some overspray is visible. Both right wheels show minor curb rash, and one NOS right front wheel is included in the purchase.Tan leather upholstery shows wear on the bolster and seat pad of the driverâ??s seat displayed in several photographs in the gallery. The passenger seat appears in better condition though signs of wear are still evident. The 348 was one of the last Ferraris to utilize the dogleg 5-speed manual.Current small issues and quirks which include, a finicky passenger seat-belt sensor, the power antenna is non-functioning and has been disabled, the wiper fluid sprayers have recently stopped working, and one of the two left fog lamp bulbs and one of the three left brake bulbs are burned out. An aftermarket Pioneer head unit has been fitted in place of the factory radio. When new, the mid-engine normally-aspirated 3.4L V8 was measured from the factory at 300hp. It features four-valves per cylinder, a dual Bosch-powered computer engine management system, and a dry-sump oil system. The V8 is mounted longitudinally and mated to a transversely positioned 5-speed manual gearbox. The timing belt and water pump were replaced in 2012 at 40k-miles but might be due for a replacement soon in accordance with recommended maintenance intervals. Numerous service records are included.Hill Engineering skid plates are mounted at the front of the subframe to help protect the car from scraping, and Hill Engineering wheel bolts and spacers have been added. Other notable 348 features include adjustable ride-height suspension and a removable rear sub-frame for easier engine-out service.
