Description

The rotisserie restoration was performed by Burke Fabrication in Seattle, Washington and included new floors and longitudinals, as well as color changes to both the interior and exterior. The car also features correctly date-stamped steel wheels, including the spare. Servicing in preparation for the sale consisted of a valve adjustment, fresh fluids, and some minor cosmetic sorting. Originally finished in Ivory White (6204), the car was repainted Silver Metallic (6006) during the restoration. It is equipped with stock lighting apart from the taillight lenses, which feature amber outer sections. The wheels are date coded from 1962 as shown in the gallery and wear correct T6 hubcaps. All five wheels were fitted with new Vredstein Sprint tires in preparation for sale. The plastic rear window is clear, and the interior features a light grey headliner. The original interior color was black per the CoA, though during the restoration it received a color change to red, with new leather upholstery and matching square-weave carpets. The clock and radio operate correctly as well. This included correcting any seat bottom fatigue, and adjusting the hinges and slider mechanisms for smooth operation. Several photos are provided of the front underhood area. The tool kit is complete, while the battery and tie-down strap are new. The 1600cc flat-four has reportedly never been rebuilt. Compression test results are provided and show ~155 psi on cylinders one and three, as well as ~160 psi on cylinders two and four. The car retains a correct 6V generator, bath-style oil filter, and blue Bosch ignition coil. In March of this year, the car went to German Master Tech Inc. in Bend, Oregon for a service in preparation for the sale. Work included a valve adjustment, general tune up, and fresh fluids throughout. The exhaust was also removed and refinished with high-temperature paint. Stamping #705226 can be seen above and confirms the engine as original per the CoA. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity is attached and confirms the numbers-matching status as well as its previous original color combination. Per the included restoration album, the floors and longitudinals were replaced during the restoration. Available records date back to 1998 and include documentation of the most recent services. An album of photos detailing the rotisserie restoration is included with the sale and shown above. Filed under: 356
