Description

Work included sourcing a 1966 Volkswagen Beetle chassis which was shortened, fitted with replacement floor pans, and painted black before being fitted with a fiberglass body that is finished in Brilliant Light Purple metal flake gelcoat. Additional work included overhauling the brake and suspension systems, installing EMPI bucket seats and a replacement wiring harness, and modifying the air-cooled 1,641cc flat-four with 87mm pistons and cylinders, an Engle 110 camshaft, electronic ignition, dual Kadron/Solex carburetors, and a Meyers Manx Sidewinder exhaust system. Additional details include a four-speed manual transaxle, 15� BRM wheels, a rebuilt speedometer, a roll bar, and chrome headlight, taillight, and license plate light housings. The fiberglass body was sourced from Meyers Manx of Costa Mesa, California, and is finished in Brilliant Light Purple (75P) metal flake gelcoat. Features include chrome headlight, taillight, and license plate light housings as well as a front nudge bar, a roll bar, a left side-view mirror, and Meyers Manx badging. Staggered width 15� BRM wheels are mounted with Hankook Kinergy ST tires measuring 195/60 up front and 275/60 out back. The car rides on Monroe shock absorbers, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes. The cockpit houses a pair of EMPI low-back roadster-style seats with polished ventilation grommets. Additional interior elements include polished dashboard trim, lap belts, Kühltek Motorwerks floor mats, a rearview mirror, and a chrome shifter with a black boot and a Meyers Manx-branded shift knobInstrumentation includes a fuel level gauge and a rebuilt 90-mph speedometer with an inset five-digit odometer that currently shows 0 miles. The air-cooled flat-four has been fitted with 87mm pistons and cylinders for a displacement of 1,641cc and features dual Kadron/Solex H40/44EIS carburetors, an Engle 110 camshaft, electronic ignition, an electric fuel pump, polished intake manifolds, a chrome fan shroud, and a ceramic coated Meyers Manx Sidewinder exhaust system.
