Description
This 1979 International Harvester Scout II was built on February 13, 1979 at the International factory in Fort Wayne, Indiana and was subsequently shipped to Midas Van Conversions in Elkhart, Indiana for transformation into a special Midas Edition. It is finished in special-order Maroon Wine over an optional brown and orange plaid interior. Midas-specific equipment includes swiveling bucket seats, shag carpeting, special door panels and headliner treatments, and dual sunroofs. A 345ci V8 is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox and a dual-range transfer case, and additional modifications include a 1? body lift, a 2. 5? Rancho suspension lift, and longer rear shackles. International Harvester partnered with the Midas Van Conversion Company in the late 1970s, and this Scout II was specially finished in Martin Senour–supplied Maroon Wine when new. Features include a front bull bar, dual pop-up sunroofs, and a trailer-hitch ball fitted to the rear. This Scout is equipped with a 1? body lift, a 2. 5? Rancho lift kit, and longer rear shackles for an increase of 5. 5? over the stock ride height.
