1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL 5-Speed

During the project the 2. 8-liter M130 inline-six was resealed and a Tremec five-speed manual transmission from Bud’s Benz was installed. Additional work included replacing the floorpans, overhauling the brakes, installing a new soft top, re-trimming the interior, and replacing body seals. Finished in metallic burgundy over Parchment MB-Tex, the car comes equipped with power steering, a Becker Europa stereo, and a body-color “pagoda” hardtop. Originally finished in Silver Metallic and equipped with an Anthracite Grey hardtop, the car now wears an older repaint in metallic burgundy. During the refurbishment, much of which was carried out by Bud’s Benz in Georgia, an area of the right-front fender was repaired and repainted. Other areas of the paintwork were touched up, and reproduction front bumpers were fitted. A new black soft top was also installed along with fresh top seals and new seals around the hardtop, windshield, doors, and trunk. A walk around of the exterior can be seen in the video above. Steel 14? wheels wear single-piece covers with chrome surrounds and body-colored centers, and new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires were mounted in May 2019.
