Description
This 1967 Morris Mini Cooper S MK I retains its numbers-matching 1275cc engine and a 4-speed synchromesh manual, both rebuilt in June 2016 by Heritage Garage in Costa Mesa, California at a cost of over $8k. The car is driven regularly and has covered about 7,000 miles since the rebuilds. All mechanical systems have been checked within the last two years, and an oil change was done three months ago along with a new air filter. Restored once in the 1980s, this Mini received a second refurbishment in 2003. The car was taken to bare-metal and repainted Balboa Blue with white roof and bonnet stripes. The driver-side front fender was damaged during paint prep and replaced. Both rocker panels and front floor boards have also been replaced. Exterior flaws include a nick on the hood, and a 2â?³ scratch on the passenger-side right rear quarter as shown in a gallery photo. Brakes are original Cooper S discs in front, with rear drums and hubs upgraded to aluminum Mini Fins for better performance. A hi-low suspension kit, rubber cones, and GAZ shocks have been added. The newer exhaust includes a glasspack muffler and Monza chrome dual tailpipe. Painted mag wheels are 10Ã?6. 5â?³ and wear Yokohama Advan HF Type-D A008 tires all around. Front seats are Corbeau reclining / adjustable buckets with headrests, and two original seats in used condition are included in the sale and pictured in the gallery. A Rokee wood dash fitted in 1978 remains in good shape, while the electric windscreen washer is not working. The original kph speedometer was swapped for a mph unit in 2005, and the 12,600 miles shown on the 5-digit odometer are not accurate.
