Description

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible is equipped with the Z11 option, which added the RS and SS packages as well as trim and decals in the style of the Camaro pace car used at the 1969 Indianapolis 500. It is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a three-speed Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission and refinished in white with orange stripes over reupholstered orange vinyl and houndstooth cloth upholstery. Equipment includes a Positraction differential, a white convertible soft top, 14â?³ Rally wheels, front disc brakes, power-assisted steering, concealed headlights, chrome bumpers, front and rear spoilers, an AM/FM radio, and a cabin heater. The Z11 package was introduced in early 1969 to outfit a limited run of production convertibles with trim replicating that of the official pace cars built for the 53rd Indianapolis 500. Close-up photos are shown in the gallery. The 14â?³ Rally wheels are mounted with F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench reupholstered in orange vinyl and houndstooth cloth. The carpeting and trunk mat have also been replaced. Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer as well as gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature mounted to the center console.
