Description

This 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 is a left-hand-drive Mk I BT7 four-seat model that reportedly was stored indoors in Fresno, California from 1972 to 2018. A numbers-matching 2,912cc inline-six is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. Delivered new in Colorado Red, the car was refinished approximately two years ago. A replacement black convertible top has also been fitted, and a red tonneau cover that was made to match the interior is shown above. Silver-painted wire wheels with two-ear knockoffs are mounted with Michelin XAS tires. A banjo-style steering wheel is mounted to an adjustable steering column and frames Smiths instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The 2,912cc C-series inline-six is finished in green and equipped with dual SU carburetors. A stainless-steel exhaust system has been added along with a finned-aluminum oil pan. The plate affixed to the engine reads 29D/RU/H 19031, which matches the BMIHT certificate. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox with an optional overdrive unit controlled by a dash-operated switch.
