1987 Porsche 911 Carrera M491 â??Turbo-Lookâ? Cabriolet

The M491 package featured the Turboâ??s widened body, larger brakes, and wheels while retaining the Carreraâ??s naturally-aspirated 3. 2 liter flat six-cylinder engine, G50 5-speed manual transmission, and suspension. It has been kept largely stock aside from an upgraded audio system installed when the car was new. It is now being offered with a 140+ photo gallery, Porsche CoA, factory books, tools, spare, jack, and accessories, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title. 412 total M491s were built for the 1987 model year of which 302 were cabriolets. Optional equipment included California emissions, Blaupunkt â??Renoâ?? radio, central locking system, 4-way power seats, power operated top, cruise control, and an alarm system. In September 2016 rebuilt convertible top motors were installed along with new correctly-sized 205/55 and 245/45 Pirelli tires, a four-wheel alignment, and new headlight lenses. Readings are reportedly consistent with factory finish on everything except the passenger-rear fender which has been blended at some point. Matching identification tags are adhered to the door jambs, underside of the hood, trunk, rear bumper, and rear decklid as highlighted in the photo gallery. The soft topâ??s rear window has some hazing as seen above. The interior is believed to remain original aside from an AT&T car phone dated January 1987 and the stereo components which consist of a CD changer with remote control on the driverâ??s visor, amplifiers, and crossover controlled by the factory Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46 head-unit. A September 2016 service included a flush of all fluids with new filters, a general tune up, and an A/C recharge. The underside benefits from a recent steam clean and detail.
