Subsequent work involved replacing the front and rear suspension components using a Mustang II front setup, installing a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and VDO instrumentation, performing a disc brake conversion, repairing rust, refurbishing the cargo bed, and refinishing the body in black. Details include chrome bumpers and hood trim, dual side mirrors and spotlights, running boards, dual exhaust outlets, and the Ford logo stamped on the tailgate. The cargo bed is lined with varnished wood planks and stainless steel runners. The windshield wiper arms are missing. Red-painted 15â?³ steel wheels with bright rims wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with a mixed set of Firestone Firehawk and Fisk Classic tires. Stopping power is from front disc and rear drum brakes. The truck has a lowered ride height and is equipped with rear parallel leaf springs as well as a Heidts Mustang II-style independent front suspension assembly with coilovers and rack-and pinion steering.
