Description
Work included stripping the shell to bare metal and sending it to Harry Willett for repair and modification. The exterior was repainted in Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue stripes, and the interior is equipped with a low-back competition seat for the driver and R-style gauges from Tony Branda. The 289ci V8 is backed by a four-speed Toploader transmission and equipped with a four-barrel Holley carburetor, big-block Galaxie radiator, ported and polished HiPo cylinder heads, and tri-Y exhaust headers. Additional modifications include front disc brakes from Cobra Automotive, Strange Engineering rear end gears, Moser axles, and Hoosier tires. The exterior is finished in Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue painted racing stripes and rocker stripes and blue vinyl GT350 rocker badges. The body shell was disassembled and blasted prior to being sent to Willett Coach Works of Orland Park, Illinois for metal and body work. The full floor pan was replaced, and GT350R-style modification included installing a front valence with cooling ducts, as well as plexiglass side, vent, and rear windows with R-model reproduction window frames. The wheel arches were also altered to GT350R specifications to accommodate wider wheels and tires. The 15â?³ Torq-Thrust wheels wear 225/50 Hoosier Street TD tires manufactured in 2015. A front suspension and disc-brake package from Cobra Automotive has been installed, along with 11Ã?3â?³ Master Power rear drums.
