Description
This 1971 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6. 3 was built in August 1970, and it spent time in California and Washington State before it relocated to New York following the selling dealer’s purchase in 2012. Finished in Silver Grey Metallic over red leather, the car is powered by a numbers-matching 6. 3-liter M100 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and equipped with electric windows, a sunroof, air conditioning, disc brakes, and self-leveling air suspension. Records totaling approximately $64k are included for work completed by the selling dealer since 2017, including refinishing the exterior, renewal of the brakes and self-leveling suspension systems, and replacement of the steering gear box, exhaust system, ignition components, and fluids. The exterior was refinished in its factory Silver Grey Metallic (180) in October 2020, at which time trim components and rubber seals were replaced. Features include chrome bumpers, stainless-steel window trim, and an automatic antenna. Close-up photos of the body panels, brightwork, and lenses can be viewed in the gallery. Factory 14” steel wheels are equipped with painted and polished covers and were fitted with 215/70 Hankook Kinergy tires. The front subframe mounts were replaced in March 2017, at which time the front and rear brake calipers were rebuilt, a brake fluid flush was performed, and brake hardware components were replaced.
