Description

3-liter Vortec V8, a 4L60E automatic transmission, and new orange paint over a customized gray interior. Equipment includes chrome wheels, air conditioning, digital gauges, a touchscreen stereo, a backup camera, aftermarket lighting, and more. Approximately 2,500 miles have been driven since completion of the work in January 2020, including a 2,100-mile road trip towing a teardrop trailer through the Pacific Northwest. The Suburban was configured as a two-door, eight-passenger wagon for 1951, and featured a split windshield, swing-out rear ambulance doors, and a single brake lamp above the license plate. Additional details include window tint, two aftermarket brake lamps on the rear quarters, and a flush-mount fuel filler door added to the left rear fender. Silver Rallye wheels wear chrome beauty rings and hubcaps. Suspension consists of a Mustang II-style front end with tubular A-arms, a solid rear axle located with a four-link setup, and adjustable coilovers. Steering is via a power-assisted rack and pinion, and disc brakes are equipped at all four corners. The cabin is trimmed in gray cloth upholstery over Ford Windstar seats up front and a folding bench with armrests in the rear. Bear Claw door latches, power locks, and an alarm system have been added.
