Description
This 1948 Bentley Mark VI is a right-hand-drive saloon that wears alloy coachwork by H. J. Mulliner and was imported to the US in 1965. A restoration in black over tan leather was commissioned in the early 1990s, and it was awarded CCCA and AACA National First Prizes shortly thereafter. Power is from a 4,257cc F-head inline-six that was rebuilt in 1997 and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes servo-assisted drum brakes with hydraulic actuation up front, independent front suspension, adjustable rear shock absorbers, a sunroof, and a radio. Just over 1,000 chassis were supplied to select outside coachbuilders, with #B244DA provided with its four-door saloon coachwork by H. J. Mulliner. The aluminum body features rear coach doors, front fenders that flow into the lower door panels, arched rear wheel spats, semaphore turn signals, and a sliding sunroof.
