Description

This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster has just 46k miles from new and has been with its second owner for 47 years. Built in May of 1967, the car was optioned with power brakes, a removable hard top, and AM/FM radio. The numbers matching 327 L79 V8 was recently rebuilt by the seller along with the original wide-ratio 4-speed manual transmission. Period modifications from stock include the fitment of side pipes by the seller in 1970, along with knock-off wheels and a rebuilt 3.70 positraction rear end. The sale includes extensive documentation that dates when the car was new, as well as a number of spare NOS parts that have been collected by the seller over a period of 40 years. The Silver Pearl paint is said to be entirely original and appears to be well-preserved for its age, exhibiting good shine over the fiberglass body surfaces.Side pipes along and original Kelsey-Hayes knockoff wheels from a 1966 Corvette were fitted by the seller in 1970 in place of the original Rally wheels and appear to be in good condition. The car retains its original black soft top which has remained well-preserved and free of tears, though the rear window is discolored. The soft top frame remains fully operable and in good working order. An original two-top car, the car retains its optional color-matched hardtop that can be seen in the detailed image gallery. The interior shows equally well and complete for its age, retaining its original chrome trim and 1967-only black centered knobs. The center stack houses its working original radio and is flanked by the unique double pod C2 dash that has remained free of cracks and fading. Apart from the center mounted clock, all gauges and controls are said to remain fully operational.Original black vinyl seats are still in place and show well with minimal wear and no noticeable imperfections over the taut seating surfaces. The numbers matching 327ci L79 V8 remains unmodified and was recently rebuilt by the seller along with the wide-ratio 4-speed transmission. Along with the side-pipes, mechanical modifications by the seller are limited to the installation of a 3.70 positraction rear end. Extensive maintenance records from new illustrate the consistent maintenance and as seen in the detailed spares list. Several NOS mechanical parts including a Holly carburetor, starter, alternator, and coolant hose are included in the sale. The engine #119713 can be seen above and matches the last six digits of the VIN.Undercarriage shots illustrate a largely clean underside that with some surface corrosion. The seller started a collection of NOS parts 40 years ago in anticipation of performing a restoration.
