Description
This 1978 Porsche 911SC Targa has just over 165k miles and is a lifetime California car finished in Cashmere Beige over Cork leather upholstery. Maintained in stock specification aside from an Alpine stereo and short shift kit, the car is powered by a 3. 0-liter flat-six mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. There are various stone chips, some surface rust, and wear commensurate with age. The recently refinished 16Ã?7â?³ front and 16Ã?8â?³ rear genuine Fuchs alloys are wrapped in new Fuzion tires and show nicely aside from a slight bend in the driverâ??s rear outer lip as highlighted in the gallery. Servicing in March 2017 included new front wheel bearings, Bilstein B6 shocks all around, four new Bosch brake discs, EBC Green brake pads, rebuilt brake calipers, stainless steel brake lines, a new axle, new Targa roof seals, and a replaced muffler tip. The manual antenna is noted to be stuck in place. A receipt for close to $3k is included in the service file. A new Porsche short shift kit and OEM bushings reportedly give the 5-speed manual gearbox a nice feel. The A/C system has been removed and will be included with the sale, while the plastic heater control slides are in need of replacement. The 3. 0-liter flat-six received a full service in April 2017 from Autohaus of Long Beach, California that consisted of engine oil and transmission fluid changes, new belts, a new distributor cap and rotor, transmission shift rod seal, new engine/transmission mounts, a reusable air filter, and a new Bosch fuel accumulator. The car was reportedly driven sparingly since, while mechanical flaws consist of a leaking washer reservoir and transmission linkage seal. A new linkage seal is included with the sale. This Targa passed a California smog check in March 2017
