1955 Volkswagen Beetle Classic Convertible Black

1955 Oval Convertible Karmann Kabriolett that I have personally owned for the last twenty-three years. The car is stock with most original parts and good quality reproductions. The body and chassis are numbers matching (apart from the engine, which is a period correct factory VW replacement engine). The car is stunning to look at and has been the family weekend cruiser since 2011. The convertible top frame has the original wood bows and a black stayfast canvas top kit (with gray headliner) was just installed in July 2018! Snowflake tail lights. It has retained its "horseshoe" style seat upholstery. A new complete wiring harness was installed in November 2014. Coker wide whitewall radials provide excellent road control (less than 50 miles on the tires). Original Motorola AM radio. The only pieces that are not stock are the shift lever (itâ??s from a '56) and the rearview mirror is from a sedan. This bug was gone over by a VW specialty shop in October of 2013 where new heater channels and reinforcement rails we're installed, rusty areas under rear seat were removed and new metal welded in. I have tons of pictures of the work that was performed. The car was completely prepped and repainted in June 2014 to give it its sleek Black and Red two-tone scheme. It has taken me twenty-three years to create a car that is fun on the road and truly fantastic looking. The are several differences between the '55 model year (only lasted 7 months) compared to '56-'57 models.
