Description
The car has since undergone a three-year body-off refurbishment completed in 2010 that included a repaint in blue over a refreshed blue vinyl interior and rebuilds of the numbers-matching 327ci V8 and the four-speed manual transmission. Factory equipment includes a heater/defroster and a push-button AM/FM radio. The body-off refurbishment—performed at The Jalopy Shoppe in Escondido, California—was precipitated by an engine-compartment fire that necessitated replacement of the front clip. After repairs were made using factory-type press-molded panels attached with bonding strips and adhesives, the fiberglass body was stripped and repainted in its factory shade of Silver Blue, and the frame was powdercoated black. Exterior features include a split rear window, retractable rotating headlights, bright rocker-panel trim, wraparound split bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets exiting through the rear valance. Reproduction Kelsey-Hayes 15? wheels are fitted with three-eared knock-off spinners and Cooper Trendsetter SE whitewall tires showing 2009 date codes. The interior features bucket seats that have been reupholstered in blue vinyl with matching door panels, and sound installation was laid down prior to the installation of replacement carpeting. Brushed-aluminum trim adorns the console and the glovebox door, and amenities include a clock, ventilation controls, and a vertically mounted Delco AM/FM radio in the center stack. A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. True mileage is unknown.
