Description
This 1959 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite was acquired by a friend of the selling dealer in the late 2000s and subsequently underwent a refurbishment in the early 2010s. Work is noted to have involved stripping and repainting the body along with installing a 1,275cc inline-four and a Datsun-sourced five-speed manual gearbox. Finished in British Racing Green, the car rides on 13â?³ Minator alloy wheels paired with Armstrong lever-arm shocks and is equipped with front disc brakes. The engine is fitted with a single sidedraft carburetor, a Maniflow exhaust manifold, and Titan roller-rocker arms. In the cockpit, low-back bucket seats trimmed in black leather are accompanied by latch-and-link lap belts, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Smiths heater. A removable white hardtop will accompany the car along with a black vinyl tonneau cover. The 13â?³ Minator alloy wheels are mounted with 175/70 Trazano H550-A tires. The suspension incorporates a coil-sprung independent front setup with an anti-roll bar, a leaf-sprung solid rear axle with a Panhard rod, and Armstrong lever-arm hydraulic shock absorbers at each corner. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The cockpit houses low-back bucket seats trimmed in black leather that are paired with latch-and-link lap belts.
