After purchasing this classic in September of 2010 the vehicle was given a rigorous inspection by a local specialist to make certain that it was road worthy for highway travel. Any issues that needed attention were remedied with no expense spared. A partial list of items receiving repairs or upgrades includes: *The OEM points were upgraded to an electronic ignition with new cap, rotor, plugs and wires installed. *All suspension components were checked with new shocks installed in front and rear and new coil springs on the rears. *All the steering components were gone through with new ball joints, tie rod ends, control arms and bushings, the steering column rag joint was rebuilt as well. *The brakes were all serviced with new brake shoes and new drums in front and new hardware as needed, also cleaned and repacked front wheel bearings. *The drive shaft received 3 new U-joints. *It was then fitted with 4 new tires and front end alignment was done. While these general repairs were being done numerous other items were attended to such as rewiring the electric choke to assure easy cold starts, a few vacuum leaks were fixed and any fluid leaks were remedied. This beautiful classic has undergone a thorough, professional inspection and any needed repairs completed for carefree driving. According to the VIN this vehicle was originally pearl black but was refinished in bright white sometime prior to our ownership. There are some minor cosmetic blemishes and we have tried to point them out in the photos. There are a few small scratches and an area near the rear wheel where the paint has some bubbles coming through. We have owned this great classic since 2010 but now need to clear out our garage in preparation for downsizing. We donâ??t have much information about the restoration that was done before we owned the vehicle but we went to great lengths to make certain the car is mechanically sound and road worthy. That being said this is a 62 year old vehicle and there is no warranty either stated or implied. The drivetrain is thought to be original with a 389 ci powerplant with an upgraded Edelbrock 1406 Performer 600 CFM Series 4 bbl carburetor and the aforementioned electronic ignition.
