Description
1970 buick GS455 Stage 1. - production date - this GS was ordered and built in late 1969 and has all of the original parts consistent with early production cars - condition of floors/trunk: as solid as can be - options - please see attached reproduction window sticker and protecto plate. This car was ordered with no power steering, brakes, or a/c. - color(s) - as ordered - Aquamist over Pearl White buckets - no vinyl top - trade(s) - I am not interested in trades - part(s) - i have the original 'sprial' shocks which were replaced by the previous owner along with a few bins of other misc parts collected over the years. Engine - SS139 Transmission â?? BOM13B-40H153239 Distributor â?? 11120169K3 Carburetor â?? 7040246 Interior: Exactly as it looks in the pictures, 100% original as it came from buick nearly 50 years ago. The Driverâ??s side seat is split at the seam(s) and there is some staining as shown. The ash trays in the back each have cigarette butts in them from god knows when. The original headliner let loose at a seam towards the back during a drive last summer at highway speed with the windows down. I used little wooden strips to hold the liner and prevent further damage. Otherwise the interior is very well preserved, all of the gauges, and controls light up and work as they should. I do believe the tachometer was replaced with a newer reproduction unit prior to my ownership, I do not have the original. Exterior: I am no expert with paint/bodywork but I will tell you what I have been told by previous owner(s). It was painted once in its original color in the early 80s. Shortly thereafter it was â??keyedâ?? along the entire left side by an angry soon to be X-wife which led to it being parked (hid away) from 1984-2008. She even left her mark with an â??Xâ?? on the driverâ??s side door which is still there today. The repair work to the front/back driverâ??s side fenders was performed by the previous owner and I have pictures of what it looked like before. Although I cannot confirm or deny this, I was told by a reputable buick guy that the passenger side ¼ panel, door, and front fender have been replaced. I donâ??t know why this work was done but it would have had to fall in place with the re-paint in the early 80s. From what I have been told the small square sticker on the inside of the passenger ¼ panel indicates it was an NOS GM ¼ panel. Drivetrain: The motor was rebuilt to original specifications using as many of the original components as possible at 65,375 miles. I have pictures and paperwork documenting the rebuild. The motor runs great and pulls hard as it should and shows its original SS 139 stamping on the driverâ??s side. The transmission is untouched and shifts as it should. Clutch action is good/smooth with no slipping. The rear retains its original 3:64 gears which have never made noise or missed a beat. When I acquired the car it had an off brand exhaust system. After some research I decided and purchased a concourse Gardner exhaust system which I had mated with TA headers. It looks correct and sounds great. I have the original exhaust manifolds which will go along with the car. Wheels/Tires: The wheels are the original 14â??â?? super sport wheels with trim rings. I purchased and installed the correct red line tires as it was ordered, the tires have less than 300 miles on them. The spare in the trunk is a full size 14â??â?? supersport and old firestone wide oval tire. The original bumper jack and components all seem to be in place.
