Description
This 1968 Porsche 911 Targa was recently refurbished to stock specifications by Huber Restorations in Tulsa, Oklahoma and has been driven less than 500 miles since the work was completed. Powered by its matching-numbers 2. The selling dealer describes the Targa as running and driving well, and notes that many of the original suspension and drivetrain parts remain on the car. This 911 is sold with a Porsche CoA and a clean Oklahoma title. 1968 was the final year of the short wheel based 911s, and it is believed that only 282 911 Targas left the Stuttgart factory for that model year. While much of the original suspension components were retained, two new Bilstein shocks were added in the rear. New brakes and calipers were also installed. The 15 Fuchs were refinished and wear newer Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The refurbished interior includes new black leatherette upholstery with houndstooth inserts, as well as new black carpet and floor mats. This car was optioned with 911S instruments, and the odometer is showing 51,799 miles. A period wooden steering wheel has replaced the original leather-wrapped unit that came with the car. The original 2. 0-liter flat-six was good for 130 hp when new and is matched to its original 901 5-speed manual gearbox. The stamps for engine #3281127 and transmission #3282146 can be seen in the images provided and match the chassis number as verified by the CoA. The Porsche CoA shows the factory options and a build date of May 2, 1968. The chassis #11880182 indicates the car is a 911 (11) produced in 1968 (8), and is a Targa model (8) with a serial number of 0182. Filed under: long hood, longhood
