Description
1963.5 Ford Falcon Sprint -Original California Convertible-Original 260cid Windsor V8 Motor-Original 4 speed Manual "Top Loader" Transmission-Only 4,602 total Falcon Sprint Convertibles ever produced ow available is a beautiful Glacier Blue 1963.5 Ford Falcon Sprint convertible. This fine example was purchased in 1965 by the current owner and has been with the family for over 6 decades, for the majority of the time locked away in a climate controlled warehouse. February of 1963 marks the halfway mark of the Ford Motor Companies production calendar in which the 260cid Windsor V8 Motor became available for the first time in the Falcon lineup. The Falcon Sprint was not only the first Falcon with a V8 it was the first ever Ford unibody car with a V8. The 1963.5 Falcon Sprint is a very limited production car with less than 15,000 total units produced, with only 4,602 of those being convertibles. The numbers get much fewer because of the optional 4 speed "Top Loader" manual gearbox. Other details include 5 lug 13 inch wheels, Sprint V8 badging, factory dash mounted tachometer. A 1963.5 Falcon Sprint is an iconic Ford not only as the first ever unibody V8, it was also the precursor to the legendary Mustang which came to market the very next year. While the Falcon has the design of a scaled down Galaxie it is identical mechanically to a 1964 Mustang. There really is no other Falcon that is more desirable than a 1963.5 Falcon Sprint with a 4 speed manual and convertible top. This is an original example that has benefited tremendously from living not only in California but a mostly inside a warehouse. The car was identified by the owner early on in 1966 as a rare piece when he acquired it. He had been an avid Ford Collector for decades only focused on v8 models. After 58.5 years the majority of cars are no longer on the road or even functioning. It is very rare to not only have a vehicle that has been with the same owner for 57 of those years but also be a desirable and rare v8 powered convertible. Don't miss out on the opportunity to own this Falcon Sprint. Cosmetically this little prehistoric mustang is in fantastic shape. The body is very solid and straight. There are no dents or damage as well as no rust holes or corrosion. The Glacier Blue paint looks and shines great. The original top looks great with no rips or sun fade. All of the chrome bumpers looks and shine great. The stainless and polished grille pieces and emblems are original. The floors are solid with no rust. The only flaw is the "C" emblem is missing on the trunk otherwise all of the emblems are complete and original. The radiator support still retains markings from the factory. Step inside this Falcon and you're stepping back into time. The Blue interior is complete and exactly as it was when it left the factory on March 4 1963. The door panels are original and in great shape. The seats are in great shape with no rips or tears. The Fronts have been reupholstered and the rear is original. The dash is original and all of the gauges are functional except the tachometer. The carpet is original with no rips or tears.
