Description
A subsequent mechanical refresh totaling approximately $40k in service and modifications were performed, which was highlighted by a rebuild of the engine with a John Mummert 318 stroker kit, upgrading the cooling system, recovering the seat, and installing power-assisted disc brakes and power steering. The chrome front and rear bumpers are complemented by a chrome grille. The bed is lined with wood separated by painted runners. The 15â?³ painted steel wheels wear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires measuring 225/70 up front and 255/60 out back. The shocks were also replaced. The bench seat was reupholstered with period-style fabric sourced from SMS Auto Fabrics and was fitted with retractable lap belts. The truck retains its floor mat and was ordered without a heater or radio. The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 90-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. They feed into a dual exhaust system with glasspacks. A Griffith radiator was also installed along with electronic ignition, and the charging system was rebuilt.
